“I Wish You Would” was written during a time in my life where I was feeling this overwhelming sense of aimlessness and uncertainty. I think the song speaks to an internal paralysis about where to go next. The lines “I wish you would, I wish you wouldn’t” reflect giving up that control and wanting someone/something else to make the decisions for you.

Sonically, we’ve been taking our time to hide away and really flush out a direction for the band while focusing on what it really is we’re wanting to say. I think “I Wish You Would” is an introspective departure from some of our earlier high energy alternative tracks while still packing an emotional and sonic punch to the gut. 

For the first single back, it felt most honest to have the message be this feeling of insecurity like “We don't really know exactly what we’re doing” but that’s what has always given us our most success creatively. Us following that deep subconscious pull, when things are aimless, is typically what ends up being the spark to something beautiful.
